Week 6

Wow, it’s been another busy few weeks in Room 7!

I am so proud of the children’s positive attitude to learning, their motivation and their enthusiasm. They confidently take on any challenge, take risks and are becoming great independent learners.  Well done Room 7, keep up the great work.

The children are so enthusiastic and excited about our Magic Castle, they are flying through the challenges and are always eager to move on to the next one. Thank you parents for your wonderful home support. We will need to get a bigger castle soon as it is almost full!

We already have lots of children who have reached their 25 night target in their reading logs – well done! Keep reading each night.

Yesterday and last Friday the children had a blast whizzing down the huge waterslide that was set up by Room 6 to raise money for their camp. It certainly looked great fun!

Don’t forget tomorrow there will be another shop day at lunchtime. This time the children from Room 5 will be selling books to raise money for their camp.

Parent teacher interviews are happening next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Notices went out last week, if you haven’t booked a slot yet please do as I would really like the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress and how they have settled into Room 7.

As Monday is St Patrick’s Day we are having a GREEN DAY at school. The children can come to school dressed in green and there will be prizes for the best dressed girl and boy. This is a fundraising event for Room 5’s camp so please bring a gold coin donation.

Enjoy the rest of your week and keep checking our blog for regular updates.

Room 7’s Character Descriptions

As part of our topic ‘Wonderful Words’ we have been learning to use interesting words and adjectives in our writing. We have been reading lots of books by the fabulous author Julia Donaldson.

One of our favourites is ‘Superworm’. We wrote a character description about Superworm. We had to use adjectives to describe him. Here is a selection, pretty amazing for a first attempt!

Superworm is strong. I like him because he can make a skipping rope. He can pull the bugs. He is cool because he can do all of that. I am a super boy! Superworm got caught by the lizard, the bird was going to eat him.
Brad

Superworm is cool because he turns into lots of things like swings. He is strong and long.
Max

Superworm is super. He saved a toad and then he saved a beetle. He he is fun to be with.
Josh

Superworm is super strong because he saved a frog with a lasso. Superworm is super cool because he can turn into a slide.
Chloe

Erin

Superworm is cool. Superworm is long. He can be a skipping rope.
Lucy

Superworm is cool because he saved the beetle.

Superworm is cool because he can change. He makes slides and I like going down slides. I saw a beetle and a lady bug.
